Saturday, May 16th Walk for Hope
Plans are underway for the 22nd Annual Walk for Hope at the Downtown South Boston Constitution Square. There will be a survivors walk, music, food trucks, touching ceremonies, stories of inspirations, and fellowship.
Registration for the walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the walk will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This is an event for everyone. Pledge envelopes are available at Dr. Boris Darovsky office, Eclipse Hair Studio, Hite Insurance Agency, Tops In Hair Care, and the HCCA office. If anyone is interested in sponsoring this event, call 476-2714.
Saturday, June 6th SENIOR EXERCISE GROUP FRANCES MITCHELL WALK FOR HOPE
This annual Walk for Hope is in loving memory of Frances Mitchell and will be held at 7 a.m. at the Washington Coleman Community Center Track. The Senior Exercise Group from the South Boston Recreation Department hosts its annual Senior Walk for Hope to raise money for the HCCA and help those battling cancer in Halifax County.
Pledge envelopes are available at the South Boston Recreation Center and HCCA office. Anyone can participate. For more information call the HCCA at 476-2714 or Matthew McCargo at 575-4230.
Saturday, September 5th Dove Hunt for Hope
It will be a day of hunting, food, and music. This will be the sixth annual Dove Hunt for Hope raising thousands of dollars for those battling cancer in Halifax County.

Saturday, November 7th Truckers for Hope
Plans are underway for the 4thAnnual Truckers for Hope at the Halifax County Fairgrounds. More details to come.
December 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, & 13th Lights for Hope
The 7th Annual Lights for Hope will illuminate the Halifax County Fairgrounds throughout December. Admission is $10.00 donation. The display can be viewed from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. HCCA are hoping people will volunteer to join them in lighting up the fairgrounds whether it is a school, church, business or nonprofit that would like to join them for the cause.
To participate in this year’s Light for Hope, contact HCCA at 476-2714. The drive-thru Christmas lights fundraiser not only brings cheer to patients diagnosed with a life-altering disease, but it also brings cheer to the community at what’s known as the “most wonderful time of the year.”
